A woman in her 70s was killed after allegedly being struck by a truck on Rashba Street in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighborhood on Sunday, in what police described as a suspected hit-and-run.

After a manhunt lasting about two hours, police arrested a truck driver in his 20s on suspicion of fatally striking the pedestrian and fleeing the scene. Jerusalem District Police located the truck shortly after the crash through searches and investigative efforts.

Jerusalem District Police officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving the report. Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived at the scene performed resuscitation efforts on the woman, but were eventually forced to pronounce her dead after she suffered multiple-system trauma.
