‘One Battle After Another,’ ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Avatar: Fire And Ash’ Among the Winners at MacGuffin Awards

The Property Masters Guild (PMG) honored “One Battle After Another,” “Frankenstein,” “Avatar: Fire and Ash” and more on Saturday for their standout props at the third annual MacGuffin Awards. 

The Property Masters Guild works to raise awareness of the property master craft and the importance of design on productions. 

“Property masters create character, build the worlds in which our stories play out and oftentimes our props drive the narrative itself,” co-chairs Corvino Elliott and Lauren Shell said. “Congratulations to all of our nominees and winners for standing out among your peers. The work you have done serves to remind the industry of just how much our voice matters.”

Matthew Cavaliero and Robbie Duncan took home the award for Contemporary Feature Film for “One Battle After Another.” Christopher Geggie and his work on “Frankstein” won in the Period Feature Film category. The Fantasy Science Fiction Feature Film winners were Brad Elliott and Melissa Spicer for “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” 

In television, “The ‘Burbs,” “Widow’s Bay,” “Spider-Noir,” “Fallout,” “Chief of War,” “Vampirina: Teenage Vampire” and “The Muppet Show” were honored. Sarah Snyder won the One-Hour Contemporary Television Series award for “The ’Burbs.” Nicole Ruby won the One-Hour Period Television Series award for “Spider-Noir.” Brad Einhorn and Andy Siegel earned the One-Hour Fantasy/Science Fiction Television Series award for “Fallout.” Morgan Kling won the Half-Hour Single-Camera Television Series award for “Widow’s Bay.”

The Humanitarian Award was presented to Luis Castro for his work as a food stylist. 

Trish Reilly received the President’s Award for her contributions to the property craft and food styling on productions such as “Obi-Wan,” “Rebel Moon,” “The Orville,” “Grotesquerie” and “American Horror Story.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Barry Wilkinson for his career spanning more than four decades in the property department.
