Zehut party chairman Moshe Feiglin called for the dissolution of the newly elected Knesset and fresh elections on Tuesday, claiming that alleged electoral irregularities had undermined the legitimacy of Israel's democratic process, according to a statement issued by his party.

Feiglin is scheduled to meet President Isaac Herzog at the President's Residence in Jerusalem on Wednesday, where he intends to present Zehut's position that the Knesset should dissolve itself and new elections should be held.

Despite questioning the legitimacy of the election results, Feiglin said he would recommend only Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form the next government.

Feiglin described Netanyahu as the leader of the national camp and the representative chosen by the Israeli public and the Jewish majority.

Feiglin claims Israeli voters were denied their choice

Ahead of the meeting, Feiglin accused Israel's legal establishment and Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara of attempting to conceal what he described as serious violations of electoral integrity and a distortion of voters' intentions.

"The very same system is trying to sweep under the rug the most serious violation of the people's sovereignty: the distortion of the voters' will and the theft of the elections," Feiglin said.

He drew parallels between the alleged election irregularities and the handling of the affair involving the former military advocate-general and Force 100, the IDF reservist unit associated with the Sde Teiman detention facility investigation.

"We are being presented with an Orwellian spectacle in which they are trying to convince us that the emperor is clothed, but the emperor is completely naked," Feiglin said.

"Everyone saw it with their own eyes, the evidence is clear, and the attempt by the attorney-general and the system to dictate what we are seeing is a denial of the democratic foundations of the State of Israel."

Zehut maintained that returning the mandate to voters was essential to restoring confidence in the democratic process.

"You have been deprived of the freedom to choose your own leaders. This must not be allowed to stand," Feiglin said.

"The Zehut party insists that the Knesset must dissolve itself and that we must go to new elections, because without free and genuine elections, democracy has no meaning."
