Presley Gerber’s Death Is Being Investigated as a Suspected Overdose: Police

Presley Gerber’s death is being investigated as a suspected overdose, the Santa Monica Police Department said Monday.

Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and brother of Kaia Gerber, died Sunday at age 27. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner online records, Gerber died at a “rehabilitation facility.”

In a statement released Monday, police said: “On September 20, 2026, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to a report of a possible overdose in the 1000 block of Berkeley Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased.

“The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified the individual as Presley Gerber, 27. SMPD detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.”

Police added the investigation is ongoing.

News broke Sunday of Gerber’s death. “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” a rep for the family told The Hollywood Reporter.

Presley began modeling in his teens alongside Kaia. He was signed by IMG Models at age 15 and made his runway debut in a Moschino show in Los Angeles before appearing on the runway for Dolce & Gabbana in Milan and in a Calvin Klein campaign.

Presley has had trouble with the law. In 2019, he was arrested and charged with a DUI. He was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to complete a DUI program and two days’ community service.

He also has opened up about struggling with his mental health and depression.

In 2020, he got a tattoo on his face that read “MISUNDERSTOOD” but later seemingly had it removed.
