Police probe residents' escape from Klang rehabilitation centre

Translate

SHAH ALAM: Police are investigating the disappearance of several residents from a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Bukit Kuda, Klang, after its owner reported that a group of men and women had taken them away without the management's permission last week.

Klang Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol said police received a report from the centre's owner on Oct 28.

He said the owner reported that a group of men and women had arrived at the premises and taken several residents away without the management's permission.

"The number of residents involved is still under investigation. We will provide updates as they become available.

"Investigations found that the rehabilitation centre is privately owned," he said in a statement last night.

Ramsay said the case was being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass, which carries a penalty of up to six months' imprisonment, a fine of RM3,000, or both, upon conviction.

Those with information can contact the Klang Utara police headquarters at 03-3291 9614, the nearest police station or investigating officer Sergeant Amirul Ashraf Abd Rahim at 011-69730086.
