A known pro-Duterte vlogger was reportedly shot dead while driving along a national highway in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, on Sunday morning, according to local media reports.

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — A known pro-Duterte vlogger, according to local media reports, was shot dead while driving along a national highway in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as Philip Engbino, 48, married, a native of Minglanilla, Cebu and a manager of EZMMI GenCon, a contractor of Strong Group Mining Corp. (SGMC).

Reports said Engbino was driving a white pickup truck owned by SGMC when he was shot at about 6 a.m. in Barangay Bacolod.

He was an active social media vlogger supportive of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Company records reportedly showed Engbino’s vehicle exited Gate 2 of the mining company’s facility at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.

As of posting time Sunday, the Carrascal police have yet to issue an official statement on the reported incident.
