The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Dr Olusegun Osinkolu, has pledged to provide inclusive, accessible and people-oriented representation if elected.

Osinkolu said his election would help address what he described as the neglect of the senatorial district.

According to a statement he made available in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, the PDP candidate spoke during a tour of the five local government areas in the district: Moba, Ido/Osi, Ilejemeje, Oye and Ikole.

He promised to address the alleged backwardness of the district, which he attributed to what he described as the nonchalant attitude of its representatives in the National Assembly.

Osinkolu said, “The 2027 senatorial election gives the people of this district the opportunity to effect change and redress the backwardness by voting right, voting for me as the right candidate, whether you belong to the PDP or not.

“If given the mandate, I will prioritise youth and women’s empowerment, quality education, improved healthcare delivery, agricultural development and effective legislation that will attract federal presence and bring dividends of democracy to every corner of Ekiti North.”

He commended PDP supporters across the district for their commitment and resolve to work for the success of the party’s candidates across the state.

He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the district, saying, “The PDP will, no doubt, bounce back during the 2027 general elections with a convincing and landslide victory in Ekiti North Senatorial District.”

The PDP candidate urged party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections, noting that unity remained central to the party’s campaign.

Osinkolu pledged to justify the confidence of the electorate if elected, saying their welfare would remain a priority in his decision-making.
