Emmys: The Red-Carpet Arrivals (Updating)

Prior to the heartfelt speeches and potential record-breaking wins, the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will place the spotlight squarely on red carpet style, which officially kicks off two hours in advance of the 5 p.m. PT ceremony at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

And why not? Many 2026 Emmys attendees are known almost as much for their fashion quotient as they are for their talent. Love Story co-stars Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly became red-carpet stars almost immediately upon the FX show’s premiere in February, and while The Bear routinely kept Ayo Edebiri in chef’s whites over five seasons, the actress vying for her second Emmy on Monday night is equally known for her thoughtful offscreen sartorial choices.

Fashion fans also will be on the lookout for Colman Domingo — a double nominee, for best supporting actor in a comedy for The Four Seasons and best guest actor for Euphoria — and notably the star of the latter series, Zendaya, a best actress nominee for the HBO show’s final season and easily among the night’s most-anticipated red-carpet arrivals.

Jean Smart and Allison Janney, meanwhile — respectively nominated for best actress in Hacks and best supporting actress in The Diplomat — often rank high in style accolades, while on Sunday night each woman also might tie a record for most Emmys won by a performer. Currently each possesses seven trophies, but eight wins for either will place that actress in the pantheon of most Emmys won by a performer, sharing that honor with Cloris Leachman and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Finally, if either Shrinking’s Harrison Ford or Stephen Root of Widow’s Bay takes home the Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy, that winner will become the oldest actor to capture the category. Barry’s Henry Winkler currently holds that title, as he was 72 when he won in 2018; Ford is vying for the prize at 84 years old, while Root is 74.
