In today’s Nigerian  newspapers review programme, Today in the  News, Vanguard leads with the Federal Government saying it has intensified efforts to contain Nigeria’s confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease; placed high-risk contacts in quarantine, isolated other contacts and strengthened preparedness across states as well as health facilities.

Another headline features the National Economic Council (NEC) endorsing a 90-day economic action plan proposed by the Federal Ministry of Finance to consolidate gains from President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms.

Vanguard also reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has warned of possible nationwide action following the failure of talks with the Federal Government over workers’ welfare, petrol prices and other labour demands.

Moving to another newspaper, The Guardian leads with the Federal Government saying political campaigns, conferences and other major public gatherings can proceed, pending any change in the public health situation amid the confirmed Ebola Virus Disease case in the country.

The Punch reports that former President Olusegun Obasanjo accused President Bola Tinubu of making every Nigerian poor by 300 per cent through the devaluation of the naira, saying the policy has turned Nigeria into “the poverty capital of the world.”

Lastly, The Nation reports that former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has demanded the immediate publication of the preliminary voters’ register, warning that its reported absence from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) online portal raises concerns about the credibility of the 2027 general election.
