Lil Wayne and Drake always collaborated throughout the 2010s, and the Young Money duo gave rap countless show-stopping and classic moments. While Young Angel and Young Lion haven’t joined forces in five years, that could be changing soon.

During the Tuesday (Oct. 6) episode of The Joint Venture, Weezy teased that even though he and Drizzy haven’t released a collaboration since 2021, they have plenty of music together in the stash and on various hard drives dating back to 2014.

“That is beyond true, just by us working together,” Wayne replied to his cohost, Craig Carton. “We have a whole bunch of unreleased material. I go through stuff every other day, just going down the drive, going through the files. We have music from 2014 and 2015, like, really unheard stuff.”

When asked about those songs possibly seeing the light of day, Wayne didn’t hesitate. “Of course, yeah,” he said. “When I’m doing nothing, I edit that stuff up and just send it to [Drake’s] phone so he can hear the new versions of it and get him going.”

Carton wondered if Drake asked Weezy about potentially letting some of these tracks fly. “Every time,” Wayne added. “That’s exactly what he writes back: ‘When we dropping this?'”

Lil Wayne and the 6 God teamed up for numerous Billboard Hot 100 hits over the years, to the point where their collaborations became essentially taken for granted. The list includes “She Will” (No. 3), “Forever” (No. 8), “Love Me” (No. 9), “I’m on One” (No. 10), “Only” (No. 12), “Seeing Green” (No. 12), “Truffle Butter” (No. 14), “The Motto” (No. 14), “No Frauds” (No. 14), “Miss Me” (No. 15) and “Successful” (No. 17).

Weezy and the OVO boss have been missing from each other’s projects in recent years. Their last collaborations took place in 2021 on Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green” Young Money reunion, and Certified Lover Boy‘s “You Only Live Twice,” the latter of which also features Rick Ross.
