Sean Bean's "exciting" psychological thriller that has "style and suspense" is leaving Netflix soon

Don't Say a Word, the psychological thriller starring Sean Bean and Michael Douglas, is currently streaming on Netflix in the UK, but you'll have to hurry if you want to watch before it is removed.
The film is based on Andrew Klavan's 1991 novel of the same name, with Douglas playing child psychiatrist Nathan Conrad. His life is thrown into chaos, though, when his young daughter is kidnapped.
Career criminal Patrick Koster (Bean) is the man behind the abduction, but he has a strange request for Nathan. He urges him to get information from Elizabeth Burrows (Brittany Murphy), a patient who has something that the villain wants.

After being added to Netflix in the UK last year, the listing for the psychological thriller is set to expire in the coming days. If you want to watch it, make sure you do so before 17 October, as it will be removed from the streamer.
Directed by Gary Fleder from a screenplay by Anthony Peckham and Patrick Smith Kelly, the film was popular upon its release in 2001, as it made $100 million at the worldwide box office.
Though it garnered a negative response from professional critics, Don't Say a Word was generally liked by viewers, with IMDb currently reporting a solid user rating of 6.3/10 from 69,000 logs.
"This was actually very engrossing. It had an interesting storyline, sustained suspense and for the most part was well acted," wrote one user in a 7/10 review, who singled out Murphy's performance.
Another viewer echoed this sentiment, writing: "The level of intensity and the fast moving plot really impressed me, even if it all didn't quite add up in the end... The best part is the acting, especially by Brittany Murphy."

"Don't Say a Word takes a great concept and, at least for a pretty good amount of the movie, runs with it with style and suspense... When it gets exciting, it can hold your attention well enough," opined another user.
Bean has had a stellar career since this film was released, and he has a new biographical drama on the way, with The Yellow Tie - a period drama based on the life of Romanian composer Sergiu Celibidache - set to be released on Friday (9 October).
Don't Say a Word is streaming on Netflix until 17 October.
