In this quick episode: An update on the premiere of Made from Humans: How Reality Becomes TV season 6, which is coming the morning after Survivor 51’s premiere.
Also, a recommendation: Nation’s Dumbest on Fox
Ah, the days are getting a little longer. Every store has pumpkin spice and Christmas decorations out.
And some love bugs splattered themselves on my windshield here, which is how I know in central Florida that fall is on the way.
I also know that fall is on the way because there are dozens of reality TV show seasons about to start.
Hi, I’m Andy, host of Made from Humans: How Reality Becomes TV, and I’m just checking in to let you know that our next season is going to start in a few weeks on September 24th.
That’s the day after Survivor season 51 premieres.
So I will come to you with a reaction to that first episode and to this new era of Survivor, which is called the “Open Era.”
So we’ll see how that goes and we’ll see what else we learn this season behind the scenes of reality TV shows.
I had a very ambitious plan to release a podcast episode today that was also a video with accompanying clips and also an article all about why Project Runway has just gone completely downhill—which is probably not even close to accurate, because downhill doesn’t begin to describe its descent into the pits of reality TV shit that it has become.
But life and expectations and just my general overwhelm in giving myself way too much to do meant that I wasn’t able to do that for today.
And you know what? That’s okay.
I’m covering Project Runway’s finale over on RealityBlur.com, so I hope you’ll join me there.
And I will look forward to joining you here in your podcast player, and your headphones, your car stereo, speakers, wherever you listen, in a few weeks.
I’ll leave you with one quick recommendation from the summer, which is the amazing Fox show, Nation’s Dumbest, which looks completely dumb and totally is, but knows it’s dumb, and that makes all the difference.
It’s been an absolute delight and a joy and a kind of fun little diversion that I’ve had when I’m not focused on Big Brother or other shows or just normal life stuff.
So if you haven’t given Nations Demis a chance and you have Hulu, check it out there.
Or if you have cable, it’s on Fox and Fox on Demand.
One episode remains.
They’re all worth watching.
Just a delightful series overall.
Anyway, I will see you back here in a couple weeks.
And thanks for sticking with me.
Thanks for subscribing to Made from Humans, and we’ll talk soon.
