Record ten prime ministers line up at Cenotaph for Remembrance Sunday
A record number of ten prime ministers stood together at the Cenotaph today for Remembrance Sunday.
Andy Burnham was joined by Sir John Major, Sir Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer.
Mr Burnham, participating in the ceremony as prime minister for the first time, placed his poppy wreath and bowed his head deeply before stepping back.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey, Reform leader Nigel Farage, foreign secretary Ed Miliband, home secretary Shabana Mahmood and Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle were among the other political figures who laid floral tributes during the Remembrance Sunday service.
Some veterans waved and saluted as they began their march through after the wreath-laying ceremony.
Some of the older members of the march were in wheelchairs and one group, many of whom were adorned with medals, rode mobility scooters.
They were applauded by the swelling crowd as they marched swiftly through Whitehall.
