Ebonyi PDP women drum support for gov candidate

Translate

The Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Chinyere Nwele, has met with women from Umu Ekumaenyi in the Ezza clan, urging them to support the governorship ambition of Chief Ifeanyi Odii, the party’s governorship candidate in the Saturday, February 6, 2027 poll.

She lamented years of unfulfilled promises, saying a deep sense of neglect had left women feeling excluded from the affairs of Ebonyi State.

Many at the meeting spoke of hardship, abandoned hopes, and a government that appears distant from the daily struggles of ordinary people.

Nwele expressed solidarity with the women. She declared that the present All Progressives Congress-led government in Ebonyi lacked clear direction and has placed the state under the control of a group of inexperienced politicians who have refused to learn the fundamentals of good governance.

“When a square peg is forced into a round hole, there is bound to be heavy failure of the entire system,” Nwele said.

She noted that despite receiving substantial monthly allocations, the administration has failed Ebonyians in critical areas of human capital development, education, infrastructure, and healthcare, the core responsibilities of any serious state government.

She said Odii-led government would deliver good roads, revitalised health sector, repair decayed infrastructure, engage in human capital development, as well as empower farmers.

“These transformations will become reality once Anyichucks is elected.True governance is not about issuing threats or intimidating the people. Ebonyi is now wiser: Remain focused and determined to elect a leader who understands your yearnings and aspirations,” Nwele said.

The meeting ended with the women of Umu Ekumaenyi signalling readiness to mobilise for a change that prioritised development over intimidation and delivery over empty promises.
