TV legend Paul Whitehouse mugged at cashpoint in busy London street in "horrid" attack

Paul Whitehouse's wife has revealed that her husband was sadly mugged in London this weekend while out doing an errand for her.
The Fast Show and Harry & Paul star is married to Dr Mine Conkbayir, with whom he hosts the I'm ADHD! No You're Not podcast. She took to Instagram to explain what happened.
"Well, a horrid start to the weekend, would be an understatement," she wrote in the caption.

"Yesterday, I had a bad reaction to some treatment, which has left me feeling rather rotten. So, last night, Paul dashed out to get me some meds. He was mugged on Essex Road (Islington) - at the cashpoint beside the Sainsbury's Local. He did fight back and retrieved his card, with the perp scuttling away empty-handed. But that's not the point, is it.
"I kept shtum, out of respect, but he just came over, having taken our daughter to football, still frustrated.
"I asked whether he'd like me to post - he said yes - in the hope that it might help folk to be more aware when out and about.
"So, please, everyone - I don't mean to patronise, but please be super vigilant out there."

"Woh. Thanks for posting, as Paul knows I live around the corner and know that cashpoint well. I will spread the word," actor Colin McFarlane said in the comments, revealing that he's also been mugged in his life.
"It's a very scary experience as you're so vulnerable and in that moment you don't know which way it's going to go. Do they have a knife? Am I in danger? So he has my total sympathy and empathy and I'm just glad he came out of it unscathed… although I'm sure the shock and mental impact will take a little while to subside. Sending love and positive and healing energy your way."
Inside No 9's Reece Shearsmith commented: "So sorry to hear this. Hope he's not too shaken up. That's just horrible."
Ghosts' Jim Howick, Fresh Meat's Kimberley Nixon, and presenters Lorraine Kelly and Shaun Keaveny were among those who also sent their love and concerns in the comments.
