‘I fear for my life’: Blue Mbombo claims Thami Ndlala threatened her

Translate

A legal dispute between media personality Blue Mbombo and businessman Thami Ndlala has moved into the public eye, with each side issuing a statement over the weekend.

BLUE MBOMBO CLAIMS THAMI DLALA THREATENED HER LIFE

Mbombo said that she has been targeted for several months by Thami Dlala in a statement she issued on Friday night.

She alleges Ndlala subjected her to death threats, verbal abuse and emotional distress, and that he had people hired to intimidate her. She also alleges that the threats extended to her child, which she says was the point at which she decided to act.

According to Mbombo, she has opened a case with the South African Police Service and has been granted an interim protection order. She said she went public not to fight Ndlala in the media but to protect herself and her family while the legal process runs its course.

“As South Africa has been confronted with brutal cases of GBV, a similar scourge has been haunting my personal space. I hoped I could deal with it discreetly and privately. However, it proved too egregious a monster for one woman to contain,” she wrote.

“For the past few months, I have been subjected to death threats, verbal abuse, and emotional torment by the prominent businessman, Thami Ndlala, who also hired people to intimidate me,” she continued.

“My naivety had led me to believe that he would grow tired and stop. Instead, he persisted, and things got worse. On several occasions, he made death threats. It was at that point, when he threatened the life of my child, that I felt it was enough,” she added.

THAMI NDLALA DENIES ALLEGATIONS

Ndlala, through the Thami Ndlala Foundation, denied the claims on Saturday and said he would respond through the appropriate legal channels. The Foundation specifically rejected any suggestion that he would threaten a child, noting that he is a father of two young daughters. It also took issue with Mbombo’s reference to supporting evidence, saying the documents Ndlala has received do not include the material she described.

“Mr Ndlala categorically denies the allegations made against him and will continue to address them through the appropriate legal processes,” the Foundation said.

“Mr Ndlala is a husband and a father of two young daughters, aged six and twelve. He is acutely aware of the responsibility that comes with protecting children and emphatically rejects any suggestion that he would threaten the life of a child.”
