PUTRAJAYA, Oct 29 — The Health Ministry (MOH) will conduct a special recruitment exercise to fill 750 permanent Medical Officer Grade UD10 vacancies in Sabah and Sarawak, with applications open from November 9 to 15.

MOH said the recruitment is open to all contract-appointed medical officers who began their housemanship training from Series 1/2016 on December 5, 2016, to Series 6/2024 on October 14, 2024, including those whose service contracts had expired.

“To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed their housemanship training and obtained full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council by the closing date of the application advertisement at the latest,” MOH said in a statement today.

The ministry said eligible and interested officers could submit their applications through the Public Service Commission’s SPA9 system when the recruitment advertisement opened.

“For officers who are successful in securing permanent appointments, the proposed reporting date is February 15, 2027,” the statement said.

The ministry said the recruitment exercise was part of the Madani Government’s commitment to making permanent appointments for more than 9,000 medical officers, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when tabling Budget 2027.

“This proactive measure is also designed to narrow the staffing gap and ensure that the retention of the medical workforce in Sabah and Sarawak remains at an optimal level,” the statement said. — Bernama
