Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Saturday led a high-powered delegation of political leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Plateau State to the historic North-Central zonal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The momentous gathering, held at Lafia Square in Lafia, Nasarawa State, brought together an impressive assembly of APC leaders, critical stakeholders, elected officials, and party faithful from the six states of the North-Central geopolitical zone and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in a powerful demonstration of political solidarity and a shared commitment to the continued leadership of President Tinubu.

This was disclosed on Saturday in a statement issued in Jos by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere.

According to him, Governor Mutfwang joined the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and APC leader in the North-Central zone, Senator George Akume; governors from across the region; and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction at the historic event.

Speaking at the gathering, Governor Mutfwang unequivocally affirmed his support for President Tinubu on behalf of the APC stakeholders from Plateau State, expressing confidence in the President’s leadership and the prospects of consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He commended the President’s economic reform initiatives, noting that sustained and consistent implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda would provide a stronger foundation for accelerated economic growth, agricultural transformation, infrastructural renewal, job creation, and improved national prosperity.

The governor expressed optimism that a second term for President Tinubu would provide the opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms, deepen development across critical sectors, and strengthen the foundations for a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.

While acknowledging the economic pressures and security challenges confronting the country, Governor Mutfwang called on Nigerians to unite in support of efforts aimed at restoring economic stability, strengthening national security, and expanding opportunities for citizens.

He emphasised that the task of nation-building requires purposeful leadership, collective responsibility, and sustained cooperation among all stakeholders.

He described the convergence of APC leaders and supporters from across the North-Central region as a significant expression of unity of purpose, shared political conviction, and a collective resolve to advance the President’s vision for a stronger, more secure, and prosperous Nigeria.

According to the governor, the endorsement represents a resounding vote of confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda, while underscoring the North-Central zone’s commitment to national cohesion, continuity of governance, and the pursuit of sustainable development.

The Plateau State delegation included the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo; the First Lady of Plateau State, Helen Mutfwang; the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel; and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Jeremiah Satmak.

Other members of the delegation were a former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye; a former Deputy Governor, Pauline Tallen; the Governor’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Istifanus Mwansat; alongside all APC candidates for the 2027 elections, other political leaders, APC stakeholders, support groups, and party faithful from across the state, the statement added.
