He added that OSACM would also focus on strengthening moral governance within the bureaucracy, including promoting integrity and ethical leadership, preventing corruption, and monitoring the implementation of related programs.

To ensure advise to the Chief Minister is timely, meaningful, effective and inclusive, the OSACM will coordinate with the Bangsamoro Internal Auditing Body, Bangsamoro Attorney General’s Office, Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’, and other relevant institutions in the course of developing measures to strengthen the system of accountability in government.

The Bangsamoro Administrative Code defines moral governance as the conduct of government policies, practices and processes that are free from corruption.

Macacua previously pledged in his acceptance speech during the October 30 inaugural session to continue and strengthen the promotion of moral governance, which was a key advocacy of Moro Islamic Liberation Front Chairman and former interim Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim.

Macacua will appoint the senior adviser from among the senior Ulama leaders of the MILF. /jpv
