Pas to work with PN parties over RoS action

KUALA LUMPUR: Pas will work with Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties to examine and take appropriate action following a show-cause notice and immediate suspension order issued by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) against the coalition.

In a statement today, Pas said it was informed of the 30-day show-cause notice dated Sept 22, issued under subsection 13(2) of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 832), following a complaint by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

It also said it had been informed of an immediate suspension order against PN issued by RoS on Sept 23.

Pas said it was confident the notice and order, issued on the same dates as the announcement and dissolution of the Melaka legislative assembly, would be dealt with by PN in accordance with the law and due legal process.

"On the principle of consultation and accountability, Pas will also work with the component parties in PN to examine and take all appropriate steps in accordance with the law and regulations, particularly the Societies Act 1966," it said.

The party said the steps would be taken to fulfil the objectives and aims of PN's establishment and its political struggle.
