Undas 2026: PITX logs over 1.68M passengers

MANILA, Philippines — The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) recorded more than 1.68 million passengers during the Undas exodus this year, the terminal said on Tuesday.
In its latest data, PITX said a total of 1,686,201 passengers passed through the terminal from Sunday, Oct. 25, to Monday, Nov. 2. This figure was slightly higher than the 1,433,716 passengers recorded during the same period last year.
PITX logged the highest number of passengers on Monday, Oct. 26, with 197,288. This was followed by 193,657 on Friday, Oct. 30, the start of the long weekend.

It also recorded 186,747 passengers on Monday, All Souls’ Day, as many Filipinos prepared to return to classes or work at the end of the Undas break.
PITX Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Kolyn Calbasa said on Monday that passenger numbers were higher this year than last year, as many passengers chose to commute rather than use their cars due to the fuel surcharge. She also noted that many commuters were using the Light Rail Transit, which has a train station connected directly to the terminal.
She added that fewer trips were booked this Undas season because of the upcoming holidays in Metro Manila from November 16 to 18 for the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.
“People will gravitate towards a longer holiday,” she told reporters in a Viber message.

The terminal said it adjusted its expected passenger volume during Undas by 10 percent, or 210,000 passengers, to account for the possible influx of passengers who would choose to travel during Nov. 16 to 18. /mcm
