Emily Atack's wedding preparations get underway in the grounds of a 16th Century Spanish church hours before the star is set to marry Alistair Garner for a second time

Sweltering in 30 degree heat, Emily Atack will say 'I do' in the courtyard of a 16th Century church in Spain as she ties the knot with scientist Dr Alistair Garner in a second wedding.

Parasols are to be given to the congregation of up to 50 friends and family - including her Rivals co-stars Alex Hassell, Bella McClean and Victoria Smurfit - to hide under from the intense sun.

After the wedding, more guests are to arrive for a three-course dinner in the courtyard, underneath the umbrella-shaped canopy of a century-old Ficus Benjamina tree laden with fairy lights.

Ms Atack, 36, officially married her step-cousin, 40, at her local church in Bedfordshire three weeks ago before hosting a party in their back garden.

This week, up to 200 guests jetted out to the whitewashed hilltop town of Mojacar, to celebrate the nuptials for a second time.

It appears a smaller party will watch the couple, who first met in 1994 when Alistair's father wed Emily's aunt, receive a blessing before they are joined by the rest of the party.

Earlier today, flowers were being arranged around the courtyard by staff who have been busy all morning setting up chairs for the procession.

A DJ booth has been set up at the end of the dinner courtyard for dancing afterwards.

Cases of Cava, beer, wine and spirits were delivered to the two restaurants adjoining the church, which have been rented out by the couple.

Yesterday, the bride was spotted showing family and friends the set-up, which includes the courtyards of two neighbouring restaurants that she has rented.

The actress appeared relaxed in a vintage Diane von Furstenberg floral dress and Prada sunglasses.

After chatting to her wedding planner in the courtyard of the church, the group then headed in for a run-through of the (second) big day.

The wedding party included her pop musician father Keith Atack, who until 2018 owned a house in the town, and her actress-comedian mother Kate Robbins.

After the rehearsals, Ms Atack and her husband jumped into a taxi to spend the afternoon together. Meanwhile, cases of cava, beer and spirits were delivered for the reception.

Rufus Jones, who plays Ms Atack's husband Paul, was seen sightseeing with his wife Philippa Allam.
