Oregon leading receiver Stewart arrested on DUI charge

Translate

Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart was arrested early Sunday on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Police in Springfield, Oregon, told local ABC affiliate KATU that Stewart was booked at approximately 7 a.m. PT on Sunday.

Stewart was released about an hour later to a third party, fellow Oregon receiver Dakorien Moore, according to KATU.

Oregon had not publicly acknowledged Stewart's arrest as of Monday morning.

Stewart, the Ducks' leading receiver this season, did not play in Oregon's home victory Saturday night against Nebraska. The senior was downgraded from questionable to doubtful for the Nebraska game late last week because of an undisclosed injury.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning mentioned Stewart on Saturday night when listing the number of Ducks players who missed the game.

Stewart has 27 receptions for 352 yards and four touchdowns -- all team highs -- in five games this season.
