4 Emmerdale spoilers for tonight as another exit is confirmed

Emmerdale spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (14 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Emmerdale, Bob shares some surprising news with Nicola as she turns to him for support. It turns out that an absent villager really is gone for good…

Meanwhile, Gabby unleashes her revenge against Robert, and Sadie has an unexpected proposal for Joe.

Read on for four big moments from Wednesday's episode…

1. Bob reveals bombshell news about Cathy

Bob and Nicola share an emotional moment at the café, reflecting on how they've got their friendship back on track despite the differences they faced following Heath's death in 2024. Nicola is grateful that she now has Bob there to support her following the tragic loss of Jimmy.

Bob then reveals that he's had some difficult family matters of his own to deal with recently. His daughter Cathy, who left to go travelling over a year ago, has now been in touch to confirm that she's not returning to the village. Perhaps no real surprise, as there's been no sign of her in the show since April 2025!

Although there's been no official comment from Emmerdale, the on-screen update seems to suggest that Gabrielle Dowling – who played Cathy since she was a newborn baby in 2007 – has left the soap for good following her extended absence.

2. Joe's sceptical as Sadie shares her plans

Sadie hopes that she can cause problems for the Miligans by digging into Ruby's strange reaction whenever her father Anthony is mentioned. Joe, who already knows the full story, advises her to avoid this angle as it's not something he wants to dredge up again.

Later, Sadie suggests that she can destroy the couple's marriage by seducing Caleb, convinced that he'll find her impossible to resist. Joe still seems wary as he doesn't believe that Caleb would betray Ruby after everything they've been through. Can Sadie convince him otherwise?

3. Moira puts her foot down over Samson

Moira wants Matty to move into Wishing Well Cottage, as he's feeling crowded out at Emmerdale Farm. Sam and Lydia insist that it's not possible, as Samson is due to be released from prison soon and they need the room for his return.

Although Matty understands the decision, Moira is livid at the mention of Samson after all the trouble he caused for her family. She makes it clear that Samson wouldn't be welcome if he returned to the family home – and battle lines are drawn!

4. Robert faces the music

Robert turns up for his planned opening day at The Hide and discovers that Gabby has spitefully stripped the place of all its contents!

Gabby has been quick to take revenge after Sadie tipped her off about Robert's scheming. Is there anything Robert can do to fight back?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
