Goncalo Ramos: ‘I don’t feel pressure of being most expensive Milan player’

Goncalo Ramos insists he doesn’t ‘feel pressure for being the most expensive player’ in Milan history, as he prepares to face his first club Benfica tonight in the Europa League.
It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 UK time (21.00 CEST).
There is still very little clarity on how much the Rossoneri genuinely paid to buy Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.
The reports varied with regards to fixed fee and bonuses to anything from €70m to €85m.
Whatever the final figure, everyone can agree that he became the most expensive player in the history of the club, so does that weigh on his shoulders?
Ramos focused on winning with Milan
“Honestly, no, I don’t feel pressure for being the most expensive player,” Ramos told UEFA.
“Of course there’s pressure, but I think that pressure comes from representing such a great club, with the pressure of winning titles for the club. I don’t think there’s greater pressure than that. There is no time to think about who’s the most expensive player, how much one player or another cost.
“What matters is if we win every week and at the end of the season, that’s what our fans and ourselves and everyone around us will remember.
“If we win, if we’re going to be champions, if we’ll have a good campaign. I think that’s the most important thing.”
Milan make their Europa League debut this evening by hosting Benfica, the club where Ramos started his career.
The 25-year-old has scored one goal in four Serie A appearances so far this season, and has already said that if he finds the net tonight against his old club, he won’t celebrate as a sign of respect.
