Every song on the ‘American Horror Story’ season 13 soundtrack

American Horror Story is back for its 13th season, bringing together characters and storylines from throughout the horror anthology’s history – but what songs are included? Find out below. 

Officially titled American Horror Story: 13, the new instalment has been billed as a “greatest hits” crossover by co-creator Ryan Murphy, with Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and more reprising multiple characters. 

The story begins with Ben DeSoto (Joey Pollari), a hospice worker who finds himself drawn into the world of Constance Langdon and an eerie Manhattan penthouse, before characters and mythology from seasons including Murder House, Coven, Hotel, Freak Show and Cult begin to collide. 

The first three episodes arrived on Disney+ in the UK on Friday (September 25), following their FX and Hulu premiere in the US the previous night. Three more episodes follow on October 2, before batches of two arrive weekly until the 13th and final episode on October 30 in the UK.

What songs are on the ‘American Horror Story’ season 13 soundtrack?

The original score for season 13 comes from longtime American Horror Story composers Mac Quayle and James S. Levine, while Amanda Krieg Thomas and Francesca Harding serve as music supervisors.  

The songs identified in the season so far are: 

Episode 1 – ‘13’ 

‘Peaceful’ – James Clarke
‘Thirteen’ – Johnny Cash
‘Piano Sonata No. 14 In C-Sharp Minor – 1st Movement – Moonlight Sonata’ – Ludwig van Beethoven
‘Ole Buttermilk Sky’ – Hoagy Carmichael
‘Tonight You Belong To Me’ – Patience & Prudence 

Most significant for longtime fans is Patience & Prudence’s eerie 1956 version of ‘Tonight You Belong To Me’, which plays over the closing credits. The same recording memorably appeared in the very first American Horror Story: Murder House episode in 2011 and later returned for the finale of 2018’s Apocalypse. 

Episode 2 – ‘1:13 AM’

Episode 3 – ‘Rauhnacht’
