NGCP: Yellow alert lifted over Visayas grid on September 17, 2026

The yellow alert status over the Mindanao grid was lifted as of Thursday evening, September 17, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

As of 6 p.m., yellow alert has been lifted by NGCP for the Visayas grid," the advisory read.

The grid currently has an available capacity of 2,674 MW with a peak demand of 2,317 MW.

The yellow alert was initially declared from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid’s contingency requirement. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA News
