The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons disclosed the ruling in a statement shared on its official Facebook page on Wednesday.

The convict was also ordered to pay N1.5m, comprising N1m into the Victim Trust Fund Account and N500,000 as compensation to the victim.

The statement read, “A Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu, Court 2, presided over by Hon. Justice Aisha Y. “He was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and ordered to pay N1,000,000 into the Victim Trust Fund Account and N500,000 as compensation to the victim.

“Failure to pay the fine will attract an additional seven months’ imprisonment.”
