2027: Mutfwang rallies Plateau indigenes in Kaduna for Tinubu

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has urged indigenes of the state living in Kaduna to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing federal backing for infrastructure projects in Plateau.

Mr Mutfwang made the appeal on Friday while addressing members of the Plateau community in Kaduna ahead of the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign on Saturday.

He said continued cooperation between Plateau and the federal government would accelerate development, urging the community to help secure another term for Mr Tinubu.

“Let us join hands to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in 2027 so that the Renewed Hope Agenda can continue to deliver tangible benefits to our people and our nation,” he said.

The governor also described the emergence of Nentawe Yilwatda as APC national chairman as an opportunity for Plateau to strengthen its influence in national politics.

Recalling the late Solomon Lar’s role in national party leadership, he said Plateau’s representation at the national level should help advance the interests of its people.

Mr Mutfwang thanked members of the Kaduna-based community who travelled to Plateau to vote for him in the 2023 governorship election, saying their contribution to his emergence would not be forgotten.

He pledged to maintain the relationship as the 2027 elections approach and urged the indigenes to participate actively in the democratic process while maintaining peaceful relations with their host community.

Highlighting his administration’s performance, the governor cited ongoing road projects across Plateau’s 17 local government areas, reforms in education, improvements to healthcare facilities and collaboration with security agencies.

He also mentioned the Tin City Metro bus service and federal approval of major road corridors linking Plateau with other states, saying the projects would improve transportation, facilitate trade and expand economic opportunities.

Earlier, Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo, Secretary to the State Government Samuel Jatau and Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Council Joseph Ari urged the community to remain engaged in Plateau’s affairs ahead of the 2027 elections.

The chairman of the Plateau community in Kaduna, John Nanpe, thanked the governor for the visit and pledged the community’s backing for his re-election.

A patron of the community, Peter Dasat, also commended the administration and urged Mr Mutfwang to remain focused on his development agenda.
