Sources: 49ers' Bosa to miss time with calf injury

Translate

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa pulled his calf during Thursday's practice and is expected to miss a few weeks, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Friday.

Bosa will not play in Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals as the 49ers work to determine whether the five-time Pro Bowler needs to be placed on injured reserve, sources said.

The 49ers are off to a 2-0 start but have already dealt with a number of injuries, with Bosa the sixth San Francisco defensive linemen to go down in the past two weeks. The list also includes season-ending injuries to wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and tight end Jake Tonges, among other setbacks.

Bosa entered the regular season uncertain to play as he worked his way back from a torn right ACL suffered in Week 3 last season, but he had appeared in San Francisco's first two games and totaled seven tackles.
