Coronation Street confirms Leanne's loyalties in Idris and Carla war

Translate

Despite knowing Carla Connor-Swain for many years, Leanne Battersby has made it clear her loyalties are firmly with boyfriend Idris.

The dodgy businessman has his sights set on buying the Underworld factory, a business Carla has owned on and off since 2007. In yesterday's episode Brody was seen breaking into a factory and setting off the sprinklers, destroying all the goods and equipment in a bid to force Carla to sell the business.

Tonight, Leanne said she saw what Brody had done and was certain it was the behest of Idris, who knew that if the sprinkler system was set off, it would ruin the Underworld business.

Leanne scolded Idris for the danger his plan had plunged those at Underworld into, thinking he had gone too far. Despite her feelings, however, she agreed to keep quiet about what transpired.

“I’m going to hope and pray this doesn’t come back on us,” she said, looking less than impressed with her partner.

Meanwhile, Carla started to panic after the damage done to the factory and feared that she wouldn't be able to afford to keep it open.

She called a meeting with her staff at the Rovers and delivered the unfortunate news that she could only afford to pay them one more month’s wages, as she needed to replace all the damaged stock and machinery.

Sally relayed the conversation with Carla to Brody, who was not aware that what he'd done for Idris had impacted the staff so significantly.

While Carla plunged into despair as her wife Lisa comforted her outside the factory, Brody went to confront Idris about his devious plan.

“Sally’s going to lose her job, she doesn't deserve that, not one of them do,” Brody said. “I’m not going to stand here and let that happen!”

Idris quickly dismissed Brody’s defiance.

“Do you know what you’re going to do about it?", he said. "Nothing, do you hear me?”, before telling Brody he will call him if he requires his services once again.

Before he left, Brody turned to Leanne, who had been quiet throughout his entire exchange with Idris.

He asked her if she approved of Idris’ plan, to which she replied: “Sally will be fine, they all will. It’s just business Brody."

Will Leanne live to regret siding with Idris over her long-term neighbours? Keep watching Coronation Street to find out.
