Official: Juventus re-sign Neto as Grabara replacement

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Norberto Neto, with the Brazilian goalkeeper returning to Turin nine years after leaving.

In a statement on their official website, the club announced a deal running to 30 June 2027. Neto was previously at Juventus between 2015 and 2017, making 22 appearances across two seasons and collecting two Scudetti, two Coppa Italia titles and a Supercoppa Italiana as understudy to Gianluigi Buffon.

Neto signing forced by Grabara’s ACL injury

The move follows Kamil Grabara’s season-ending injury. The Poland international ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during training on 19 September, just five days after keeping a clean sheet on his Juventus debut in the 5-0 Europa League win over NEC Nijmegen. He has since had surgery and faces six to seven months out.

With Carlo Pinsoglio not considered sufficient cover for Guglielmo Vicario, Juventus turned to the free agent market, where Neto had been the most familiar name available.

Born in 1989, he spent five years in Spain with Valencia and Barcelona after leaving Turin, followed by three in England at Bournemouth and Arsenal, before a season back in Brazil with Botafogo.
