Juliet Stevenson, Olivia Williams Join Tim Crouch’s ‘An Oak Tree’ at the Other Palace (EXCLUSIVE)

Francesca Moody Productions has unveiled further casting for Tim Crouch’s “An Oak Tree,” adding Juliet Stevenson, Olivia Williams, Sean Gilder, Brian Gleeson, Sophie Melville, Rhashan Stone and Ria Zmitrowicz to the roster of guest artists appearing opposite Crouch during the show’s run at The Other Palace from Oct. 7-Nov. 15.

“An Oak Tree” hinges on one rule: a fresh guest artist steps in alongside Crouch at every performance, with no prior look at the script and no rehearsal. First staged in 2005, the play has now been performed in upward of 19 countries, drawing on a pool of guest artists that has grown past 350 names, among them Frances McDormand, Geoffrey Rush, Peter Dinklage, Mike Myers, David Tennant and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The newly confirmed dates are Olivia Williams on Oct. 10, Rhashan Stone on Oct. 11, Juliet Stevenson on Oct. 18, Sophie Melville on Oct. 25, Sean Gilder on Oct. 27, Brian Gleeson on Oct. 30 and Ria Zmitrowicz on Nov. 8.

They join a previously announced group performing over October and November that includes Rosalie Craig, Clare Perkins, Tom Mothersdale, Gemma Whelan, Bessie Carter, Sacha Dhawan, Hammed Animashaun and George Fouracres.

Stevenson, an Olivier and Critics’ Circle award winner, has recently starred in “King and Conqueror” and “Professor T.” Williams’ television credits include “Dune: Prophecy” and “The Crown.” Dhawan currently appears in “Doctor Who” and “The Great,” while Whelan is known for “Game of Thrones” and “The Tower.” Carter stars in Netflix’s “Bridgerton.”

“An Oak Tree” is directed by Crouch, Karl James and Andy Smith, with music by Pete Gill and piano by Simon Crane.

The production is part of a new Francesca Moody Productions season at The Other Palace that also includes “Garry Starr: Classic Penguins,” running Oct. 22 through Jan. 3, 2027, and “Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going To Happen,” running Nov. 19 through Jan. 10, 2027. FMP also produces Hannah Reilly’s “Roleplay,” transferring to Soho Theatre from Oct. 22-Nov. 21, and presents Shedinburgh at the Young Vic’s Maria Studio through Oct. 10.
