KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 — Astro Original series Generasi: Perfect 10 won best TV drama series at the 37th Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) on October 24.

The eight-episode drama debuted in 2025 and has since received widespread critical acclaim, recording 21.2 million total views, 5.1 million unique viewers and 74 million social media views, according to the Astro Malaysia team.

Nas Addina, the show’s showrunner, said the team did not expect to be nominated, let alone win an award alongside some of their favourite local dramas and more established industry figures.

“Our team was surprised to even be nominated to begin with, what more, being in the same category as some of our favourite local dramas and seniors.

“We’re beyond grateful for this acknowledgement, and we hope to see more original stories and female-led narratives like ours be celebrated in the industry for years to come,” she told Malay Mail.

The ASA recognises achievements in Malaysia’s television and radio broadcasting industry, celebrating the contributions of both on-screen talent and production teams working behind the scenes.

At its heart, Generasi: Perfect 10 is a coming-of-age sports drama centred on gymnastics, but the story goes beyond the pursuit of sporting excellence.

It follows Ezie (Arena Wan), a teenager who dreams of becoming a professional gymnast.

Her journey takes her to Permai Sports Academy after her school’s gymnastics club unexpectedly closes.

There, she faces the demands of a competitive sporting environment, where friendships, rivalries and the pressure to succeed test her determination.

The series also explores teenage identity, family relationships and the darker side of obsession, showing how the pursuit of perfection can affect young people beyond their sporting ambitions.

The cast includes Arena Wan, Arabella Ellen, Datin Sofia Jane, Sharifah Sakinah, Daniel Fong, Nat Aaliyah, Ellyza Azizi, Aila Azizul, Dhabita Auji, Hazi Juzaili, Chandni Nagadurga, Sherie Merlis, Qi Razali, Aiman Ameer, Zarra Zaff and Farah Ann Abdul Hadi.

Generasi: Perfect 10 is currently available to stream on Astro GO, Sooka, and Netflix.
