Asian Games 2026: India wins first-ever mixed recurve team silver
Archers Dhiraj Bommadevara and Kumkum Anil Mohod on Friday won the first-ever Asian Games silver medal in the mixed recurve team, going down 3-5 to China at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square.
In the process, the Chinese pair of Zhu Jingyi and Li Mengqi additionally bagged the coveted LA 2028 Olympic quota.
China won the first set in the three-editions-old event without breaking a sweat as Kumkum’s second arrow landed on the dreaded 7 mark.
Dhiraj once again registered the only 10 of India’s second set as China built on its lead.

India instilled some belief in the crowd as it took a set off China with Dhiraj and Kumkum finding a 10 each and Li hitting a 7.
But it wasn’t to be, as China came back with a 37 to tie India’s set score and avoid triggering a shoot-off.
Earlier, Japan’s Asakuno Nanami and Nakanishi Junya squandered a 3-1 lead in the semifinal to eventually lose by a 5-3 scoreline and gift India a spot in the gold medal match.
