P20-M ‘shabu’ seized, drug suspect nabbed in Zamboanga buy-bust

PAGADIAN CITY – Authorities arrested a high-value drug suspect and seized P20.4 million worth of suspected shabu during a joint buy-bust operation in Barangay Mercedes, Zamboanga City on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as alias “Kah,” 30, a resident of Barangay Gata in Talipao town, Sulu province.
Police listed him as among the major drug suspects in the Zamboanga Peninsula or Region 9.

Joint operatives, led by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 (RDEU-9), carried out the sting operation around 3:55 p.m. along Calle Real, resulting in the suspect’s immediate arrest after dealing with an undercover operative.
Seized from the suspect were three heat-sealed transparent plastic packs containing alleged shabu weighing three kilograms, valued at P20,400,000.
The confiscated items were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 9 for qualitative and quantitative examination.
