Andrew Garfield, Owen Thiele on Flight That Made Emergency Landing

Andrew Garfield and Owen Thiele found a new social network during their plane's emergency landing.

The actors were among the passengers—which also included Nick Robinson, singer Mark Ambor and Love Island USA's Dylan Wrona—to make unexpected connections after their Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York City made an emergency stop in Albuquerque.

"We apologize to our customers on Delta Flight 958 (LAX to JFK) on Sept 9, which diverted to Albuquerque due to a smoky odor in the aircraft,” the airline said in a statement given to Entertainment Weekly Sept. 10. “The aircraft landed uneventfully and our teams worked to reaccommodate customers as quickly as possible to their final destinations."

Thiele humorously documented the entire ordeal on his Instagram Stories—that he commemorated with a grid post—which eventually led him to making friends with his fellow passengers.

"We just had an emergency landing in Albuquerque," he captioned a photo of a firefighter on the plane. "Any recs?"

"Andrew Garfield on my flight," the Adults actor added on a subsequent post. "If plane went down it would’ve said Andrew Garfield and others. Nick Robinson here too. Andrew Garfield, Nick Robinson and others."

E! News has reached out to Garfield, Thiele and Delta for comment and has yet to hear back.

After noting that Delta was offering them hotel rooms, Thiele shared a selfie with a few other people and said that he "made friends in the airport."

From there, the unlikely group left the airport together to make the most of their lengthy stopover with a trip to a local Dave & Buster's.

"In the back of a car going to Dave and busters with 9 people I've never met before," Thiele wrote. "I'm in the trunk."

Following their arcaded outing, the group made their way back to the airport for dinner after being informed by Delta that there was a potential aircraft to take them to New York—although that too came with hiccups.

"We got a call saying the flight is now smaller and we might not have seats," the In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele podcast host shared. "We Uber Eats food to the airport and forgot we had to go through security again to get it in."

After successfully procuring their food from P.F. Changs—though he revealed that they were actually given the "wrong" order—Thiele shared the ironic fortune in his  cookie that stated, "a thrilling new experience is at your fingertips."

Ultimately, the passengers got on a new plane and made it to their final destination in New York. And they the stranded travelers walked away with more than just memories as beyond revealing, "Nick Robinson sitting next to me" Thiele shared that he's now in a group chat with his  airport friend group.

He wasn't the only person to document the experience, either. While Wrona didn't venture out of the airport for an adventure after the emergency landing, he did post a selfie with Garfield, writing, "Our plane is here to save us."
