Great news for fans attending MTN8 final in Durban

Translate

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) will operate extended train services this weekend for supporters attending the MTN8 final between defending champions Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

Trains will operate along the uMlazi, KwaMashu, Pinetown, Crossmoor and South Coast corridors, providing supporters with a convenient and reliable way to travel to the match. A return ticket will cost R20.

Dedicated shuttle

Services on all five corridors will operate to Moses Mabhida Station until 17:30, ahead of the 18:00 kick-off.

A dedicated shuttle will operate between Durban Station and Moses Mabhida Station every 30 minutes from 13:00 to 18:00.

Services along the five corridors will resume at 20:00 and continue until 22:00.

The shuttle from Moses Mabhida Station to Durban Station will then operate from 22:00 to 22:30, allowing passengers to connect with onward services.

Plan your journey

PRASA said limited park-and-ride facilities will be available at Durban Station, uMlazi Station and KwaMnyandu Mall for R50 per vehicle.

“Supporters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and travel by train to avoid traffic congestion and parking constraints around Moses Mabhida Stadium.”

“As the backbone of public transport, PRASA is committed to providing safe, reliable and affordable rail services that enable supporters to travel to and from major sporting events with ease and confidence.”

Train schedules will be published on PRASA’s official digital platforms.
