WATCH: Joint List to air footage of Gaza’s destruction in Israeli election broadcast

Translate

The Joint List will dedicate its political broadcast to showcasing the destruction in the Gaza Strip in the form of 48 seconds of drone footage of Gaza rubble, the party announced on Monday.

The footage, viewed by The Jerusalem Post, cuts between different vantage points of the destruction and includes a Hebrew voiceover describing Israel as "continuing as usual" despite the destruction. Hebrew and Arabic captions match the voiceover, with somber music playing in the background throughout.

"(We) behave as if everything that has happened here (in Gaza) is completely normal," the video says. "As if tens of thousands of people weren't killed here... As if entire cities were not destroyed and turned into wastelands."

The video, which further describes the deaths of Gazan children and families, states that the party "will not be silent."

"They (other parties) want more destruction," the Joint List video claims. "We offer life."

Joint List: 'Destruction, devastation' in Gaza 'largely hidden' from Israelis

The party claimed in its announcement that such footage of the "destruction and devastation in Gaza" has been "largely hidden from the Israeli public."

"We are the only ones who have firmly and consistently opposed the war of annihilation in Gaza, from its inception and throughout its entire course," the party stated. "We did not remain silent, we are not silent, and we will not remain silent."

The statement called for Israelis to "look reality in the eye" and for Israel's media to publish footage of Gaza's destruction "in its entirety."
