Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Maintenance Across Several Counties on September 29

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance in several parts of the country on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

The planned interruptions will affect parts of Nairobi, Samburu, Nyandarua, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kisii, Migori, Nyeri, Embu, Kiambu and Kitui counties, with outages scheduled at different times depending on the affected areas.

Customers in the affected locations have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the planned interruptions.

Nairobi Region

Mbaazi Avenue and Hatheru Road

Maintenance will be carried out from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include part of Naivasha Road, part of Riara Road, Riara Close, the whole of Hatheru Road, Kingara Road, Kingara Close, part of Gitanga Road, Amboseli Road, part of Mbaazi Road, Mbaazi Close, Merlin Court, Naivas Mbaazi Avenue, EBRU TV and part of James Gichuru Road, among other adjacent customers.

Githunguri Road and Laikipia Road

The interruption will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas affected include Githunguri Road, Laikipia Road, Migori Road, Tabere Crescent, Kasuku Centre, part of Oloitoktok Road, part of Ring Road Westlands and Kileleshwa Police Station, alongside adjacent customers.

Central Rift Region

Samburu and Nyandarua Counties

Maintenance in Kinamba, Sipili and Ouabet will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include 01 Moran, AAA Growers, Mwanzi Farm, Mochongoi, Kabel, Posta, Mugie Ranch, Churo, Tangulbei, Suguta Marmar, Kisima, Maralal Township, Maralal Water Supply, Poro Radar Station, Loosuk, Credible Blooms, Thome Shopping Centre and Rumuruti, among other adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

Uasin Gishu County

Maintenance in Sirikwa and Cicada will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Sirikwa Hotel, Cicada, AP Line, Zion Mall, MUSCO Towers and Eastern Avenue, alongside adjacent customers.

A separate interruption will affect Kipsinende, Kipkorogot and Naiber during the same period.

The affected locations include Kipsinende, Plateau, Naiberi, Carbacid and Abra School, among other adjacent customers.

The notice also lists Kosachei, Maanzini, Waitaluk, Kapkong and Tumaini among the affected areas.

Western Region

Kisumu County

Maintenance in Miguye will affect Miguye Primary School and Miguye Village from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Huma, the interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Huma Girls, Arude School and Marera, alongside adjacent customers.

South Nyanza Region

Kisii County

Residents and businesses in Keroka and Rianyoka will experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Keroka Hill-Top Hotel, St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls, St James Ichuni Secondary School, Keroka Technical Training College, Nyanturago Secondary School, Nyamasibi Market, Masisi Secondary School, Hotel ya Abuga, Matibo Secondary School, Hema Chitago Secondary School and Nyamagesa Secondary School, among other adjacent customers.

Migori County

Maintenance in Nyabohanse and Isebania will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Isebania Town, Sorore Water Treatment, Moi Nyabohanse, Nyangoge, Nyankore, Komakara, Kubweye, Komosoko, Tagare and Nuru, alongside adjacent customers.

Mt Kenya Region

Nyeri County

Maintenance in Solio Ranch and Solio Lodge will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Solio Ranch, Solio Lodge, Solio Ranch Office, Solio Cattle Dip and DOD Transmitter, among other adjacent customers.

Embu County

In Majengo, the interruption will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Affected areas include Majengo Chief’s Camp, KIE Majengo, County Secondary and Primary schools, Salkan Hotel, Shell Petrol Station and Kwetu Hotel.

A separate interruption in Mambo, Kamiu and GTI will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The affected locations include Jumbo Nuts, Majimbo Low-Cost Houses, Kamiu Catholic and GTI Staff Quarters, alongside adjacent customers.

North Eastern Region

Kiambu County

Maintenance in Kahawa Sukari will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Kahawa Sukari Estates, Felma Shopping Centre, Quickmart Supermarket, Shell Petrol Station, Naivas Supermarket, Kahawa Sukari Police Station, Uhuru Kenyatta Primary School and Uhuru Kenyatta Secondary School, among other adjacent customers.

Another interruption will affect Kimunyu and Muthaite during the same period.

The affected locations include Nando Farm, Ruera Estate, Karunguru Estate, Croton Ridge Estate, Muthaite Farm, Murram Estate, New Rain Hotel, Kays Estate and Daykio Estate, alongside adjacent customers.

Kitui County

Maintenance in Mutukya, Miambani and Kamandio will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Mutukya, Mutulu, Mutula Market and Primary School, Kwa Wewa, Miambani, Kamandio, Kiviu and Mukuku, among other adjacent customers.

Kenya Power regularly undertakes planned maintenance to facilitate repairs and improvements to its electricity distribution network. Customers in the affected areas are advised to plan for the temporary interruptions and treat all electrical installations as live once power is restored.
