Kebbi Emir renews call for prayers against insecurity

The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami, Gomo III, has renewed his call for intensified prayers to seek divine intervention in the persistent security challenges confronting the country.

The monarch made the call on Friday at his palace in Zuru, Kebbi State, during the weekly post-Jumu’at special prayer session for peace, unity and development.

Sami said the Zuru Emirate had sustained the practice of offering special prayers for peace since he assumed the throne, stressing that the prevailing security situation required renewed spiritual intervention alongside ongoing government’s efforts.

He said, “Let us wholeheartedly return to Allah through our various religious leaders and followers for Allah’s divine intervention, in addition to the efforts being made by our leaders, particularly our own Comrade Governor.”

The emir who acknowledged the resources and efforts being deployed by the various levels of governments and other critical stakeholders to address insecurity,  said the persistence of the challenge made it necessary for citizens to complement such efforts with sincere prayers.

He said the renewed appeal was also informed by the commitment of the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, to tackling insecurity and promoting sustainable development across the state.

Sami urged residents of Zuru Emirate and Kebbi State to continue supporting and praying for the governor, saying his administration’s efforts towards peaceful coexistence and the socio-economic wellbeing of the people required collective support.

The monarch said, “I urge our people to continue to support and pray for our governor for the success of his administration and his selfless service to the people.”

Arewa PUNCH reports that the special prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Zuru, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Tanko Liman, and the Sarkin Mallaman Zuru, Alhaji Musa Balarabe, alongside other Islamic scholars in the emirate.
