Chelsea will look to continue their impressive start to life under Xabi Alonso as they host Hull in the Premier League

London Standard

Chelsea are back in Premier League action today at Stamford Bridge. The Blues face a newly promoted team for the first time this season and are out to show last weekend's defeat to champions Arsenal was just a minor blip, though Hull are yet to concede in the league so far.

Xabi Alonso's side should be in good spirits after coming from behind to beat Leeds in midweek, scoring six goals in the second half to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round and make it three wins from three at home across all competitions. Chelsea have been handed a an injury blow with Moises Caicedo still sidelined, but Romeo Lavia is available for selection after being rested on Wednesday night.

Hull, meanwhile, have made a strong start upon returning to the top flight, picking up seven points from a possible nine. Another clean sheet for the Tigers may go a long way towards securing their most important objective of the campaign - avoiding relegation. This game is shaping up to be attack vs defence. Hull are yet to concede in the Premier League this season, but this will be their toughest test to date.

Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers have, in general, made a flying start to the campaign and we are expecting more goal involvement from the Chelsea trio.

Chelsea to win, 3-1.

Hull team news

The Tigers will be without Hidemasa Morita and Charlie Hughes for the trip to west London, but Paddy McNair John Egan and Tim Iroegbunam are available for selection.

Moises Caicedo remains sidelined with the knock that forced him off in the 4-3 win over Brighton.

The game comes too soon for summer arrivals Jordan Henderson and Emmanuel Emegha, though they could feature against Brentford before the international break.

Romeo Lavia is available after being rested for the midweek Carabao Cup win.

Marco Palestra missed out again.
