This adds another month to the R-rated psychological thriller's previous 200-day milestone on the chart, which is impressive. At the time of writing, no other movie stands above The Housemaid when it comes to the time they have trended on the Amazon VOD chart, nor do they come close to Sweeney's hit thriller. The movie that boasts the second-longest time on the list is Chris Pratt's video game adaptation The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, at 116 days.

As such, Sweeney's The Housemaid has trended on Amazon VOD's Top 25 Movies chart in the US for practically double the amount of time of Pratt's latest Mario movie on the list. Adding to that, The Housemaid is firmly holding onto the chart, as the psychological thriller shows no signs that it is ready to head out. Rather than lose any positions, The Housemaid is holding strongly at the 15th spot on Amazon VOD nationwide. This puts the Sweeney thriller ahead of movies like Alan Ritchson's Motor City, DC's Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall, Star Wars' The Mandalorian and Grogu, and more.

Sweeney's hit R-rated psychological thriller finished its box office run with $400.5 million worldwide. That was more than enough for a sequel to be quickly put into development. Sweeney will return for the announced The Housemaid's Secret, with the sequel being based on the novel of the same name by Freida McFadden. With The Housemaid's Secret set to release on December 17, 2027, two years later, in the same release window that made the original a hit, and the fact that Sydney Sweeney will be joined by stars like Oscar nominee Kirsten Dunst and Love Story's Paul Anthony Kelly, The Housemaid's success will likely be repeated.
