The widow of slain Kidapawan radio journalist Eduardo “Ed” Dizon lauded a Quezon City court for the guilty verdict rendered on Tuesday against two men accused of murdering him in 2019.

COTABATO CITY  – The widow of slain Kidapawan radio journalist Eduardo “Ed” Dizon lauded a Quezon City court for the guilty verdict rendered on Tuesday against two men accused of murdering him in 2019.

“Justice is served.  I thank all friends of Ed Dizon, thank you for your prayers, and to DXND people,” Madonna Dizon, wife of the murdered journalist, said.

Dizon had worked for the Church-run DXND Radio Bida in Kidapawan City.

On Tuesday, October 6, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 228 found the accused mastermind Dante Encarnacion Tabusares and gunman Junell Jane Andagkit Poten guilty of murder.

Both were sentenced to reclusion perpetua, or imprisonment of up to 40 years.

The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFOMS) also welcomed the court decision. /coa
