Coronation Street's Ross shows his true colours again in malicious Dorin scene

Coronation Street's Ross Wilkes has shown his true colours once again in a malicious scene with grandson Dorin. In a previous episode, Ross made some incredibly offensive remarks about male domestic abuse victims when talking about Richie Parkinson's abuse claims against his wife.

However, these remarks deeply upset Tyrone as he'd experienced domestic abuse at the hands of his ex-fiancée Kirsty Soames.

In tonight's episode (17 September), Ross made a cruel comment to Dorin after seemingly making amends with Tyrone.

After the disastrous meal with Tyrone and Fiz at the Bistro, Tracy and Ken berated Ross for his comments, for which he seemed genuinely upset about.

He said that he was unaware of Tyrone's history with domestic violence, but Tracy insisted that he apologise to Tyrone, otherwise he could say goodbye to any chance of a relationship with his son.

When catching Tyrone at the house, Ross blamed his comments on booze, but that he was "ashamed" of what he'd say, which Tyrone seemingly wasn't buying.

He then went on to say that he didn't think before speaking and it wasn't his son's responsibility to educate him, adding: "But I do want to understand what happened to y0u."

Ross assured his son that he didn't have to talk about his experience if he didn't want to, but Tyrone opened up to his father about the hell that Kirsty had put him through during their relationship.

He then described his feelings of shame about being "weak" and that it was something he was still grappling with, to which Ross was seemingly sympathetic as he said he "wished he could have been there to support him".

With the father and son seemingly having made amends, Tyrone thanked Tracy, who has arrived to share babysitting duties with Ross, for encouraging Ross to speak to him and "put him straight".

However, when Tracy left the room to order a takeaway, Ross noticed Dorin playing with a doll which he tossed across the room, showing that his support for Tyrone had been nothing but an act.

"Boys don't play with dolls son," he said to Dorin. "You don't want to turn into a big softie like your dad, do you?"

Eyes have been on Ross ever since Cassie's disappearance, but just how far will he take things with Dorin? And will Tyrone ever find out who his father truly is?
