Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Saturday led a delegation of political leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in the state to endorse President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The event, held at Lafia Square in Lafia, Nasarawa State, brought together APC leaders, elected officials and party supporters from the six states of the North-Central geopolitical zone and the Federal Capital Territory.

This was disclosed on Saturday in a statement issued in Jos by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere.

According to the statement, Mutfwang joined the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu; the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; governors from the region; and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction at the event.

Speaking at the gathering, Mutfwang affirmed his support for Tinubu on behalf of APC stakeholders from Plateau State, expressing confidence in the President’s leadership and the prospects of consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He commended the President’s economic reform initiatives, saying sustained implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda would provide a stronger foundation for economic growth, agricultural transformation, infrastructure development, job creation and improved national prosperity.

The governor expressed optimism that a second term for Tinubu would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms, deepen development across critical sectors and strengthen the foundations for a more resilient, inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.

While acknowledging the economic pressures and security challenges facing the country, Mutfwang called on Nigerians to support efforts to restore economic stability, strengthen national security and expand opportunities for citizens.

He said nation-building required purposeful leadership, collective responsibility and sustained cooperation among stakeholders.

Mutfwang described the gathering of APC leaders and supporters from across the North-Central region as an expression of unity and a shared commitment to advancing the President’s vision for a stronger, more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

According to the statement, the endorsement represented a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda, while underscoring the region’s commitment to national cohesion, continuity of governance and sustainable development.

The Plateau State delegation included the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo; the First Lady of Plateau State, Helen Mutfwang; the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel; and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Jeremiah Satmak.

Other members were former Plateau State Governor Joshua Chibi Dariye; former Deputy Governor Pauline Tallen; the governor’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Istifanus Mwansat; candidates of the APC for the 2027 elections; and other political leaders, stakeholders, support groups and party supporters, the statement added.
