Horror ‘The Block’ With Jack Falahee, Saphira Moran & Jackie Earle Haley Wraps; Unveils First Look

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: Craig Singer’s horror The Block has wrapped and unveiled a first look at recent Tony award-winning actor Jack Falahee (Death of a Salesman) in the starring role of a writer who turns to a chilling source of inspiration.

Falahee plays Mitch James at the top of his career who becomes caught up in a murderous case of writer’s block and a fan-turned-girlfriend (Saphira Moran) obsession that becomes deadly. The movie follows the once-golden boy of horror into a mind-bending exploration of the creative process, locking the protagonist in a never-ending doom-cycle of creation and destruction.

Singer, former Creative VP at Disney, has reteamed with horror-writer Robert Dean Klein, following the success of their award-winning film 6:45 starring Michael Reed, Armin Garo and Augie Duke.

“I’ve been developing The Block for many years,” says director and co-producer Craig Singer. “The original idea – what an artist is compelled to go through to secure their art and legacy – has always intrigued me and feels even more urgent in 2026.

“Today’s rapidly evolving, AI-driven creative landscape forces creators at every level to make artistic choices and face challenges on a scale we’ve never seen. The timing couldn’t be more relevant. The Block isn’t about jump scares; it’s a philosophic fable for our times.”

The ensemble cast of The Block also includes Thomas G. Waites (The Thing), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, Shutter Island), Catherine Cocoran (Terrifier), Chris Noth (Sex and the City), Carrie Jo Crosby, Armen Garo (Dexter: New Blood), Michael Rodrick (General Hospital) and Elias Koteas (Chicago P.D.).

The film is a co-production between Singer’s US-based production company Cascrator Films, and Australian-based production company Three777 Films which co-produced Beast starring Russell Crowe and recent slasher film The Only One starring Mel Jarnson and Moran.

The film is in post-production and does not yet have a premiere date.
