Two nights after being rushed off stage with a medical emergency two songs into Journey’s show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, drummer Deen Castronovo was back onstage playing the band’s next concert in San Antonio on Saturday.

As previously reported, Castronovo was rushed to the hospital Thursday night a couple songs into the Tulsa show, with keyboardist Jonathan Cain telling the audience, “Have your prayers ready,” and drum tech Steve Toomey filling in behind the kit for the remainder of the show.

Ahead of Saturday’s gig in San Antonio, Castronovo took to social media to write the following:

“Thank you all for the overwhelming love, concern, well wishes, messages and texts over the past couple of days. While I haven’t been able to respond to everyone personally, please know how much your kindness and support mean to me. Tulsa, I’m so sorry I couldn’t finish the show with you all. Thank you to Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon and everyone at the BOK Center for lifting me up in prayer that night. Hearing about that touched my heart deeply. I’ll be joining Journey on stage in San Antonio tonight. Much love to you all!.”

The drummer then played the full 29-song set at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Saturday night, while also handling lead vocals on a few of the songs, as he always does.

The current North American leg of Journey’s “Final Frontier” farewell tour runs through a November 28th show in the band’s hometown of San Francisco. Tickets for the upcoming shows are available here.
