KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 —The public should prioritise their mental health and not hesitate to seek help when experiencing stress or feeling overburdened by the demands of daily life, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said.

He said mental health should be cared for alongside physical health, particularly when dealing with the demands of work, family and everyday life.

“In the midst of busy work, family and daily life, do not forget to look after our mental health just as we look after our physical health,” he said in a Facebook post in conjunction with World Mental Health Day today.

Fahmi said those who felt overwhelmed, exhausted or struggled to cope on their own should talk to someone they trusted and seek help if necessary.

He also reminded the public that taking a break and giving themselves some space was nothing to feel guilty about.
