Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway will not play Saturday against Prairie View A&M after suffering an ankle injury in the season opener, sources told ESPN on Friday.
Junior Nate Bennett will be making his first career start for the Bears, sources told ESPN.
Lagway suffered the injury in the Bears' 17-16 loss to Auburn -- his first game for Baylor after transferring from Florida. He is not expected to be out long-term, sources said, but he will not be available for Saturday's game.
Bennett, a 6-1, 192-pound junior from Westlake Village, California, has appeared in five games as a backup to Sawyer Robertson over the previous two seasons, completing 6 of 9 passes for 53 yards.
